{"id":386,"date":"2012-09-19T13:35:46","date_gmt":"2012-09-19T13:35:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2012.kenya.wordcamp.org\/?post_type=wcb_sponsor&#038;p=386"},"modified":"2012-09-19T13:35:46","modified_gmt":"2012-09-19T13:35:46","slug":"the-kenya-ict-board","status":"publish","type":"wcb_sponsor","link":"https:\/\/kenya.wordcamp.org\/2012\/sponsor\/the-kenya-ict-board\/","title":{"rendered":"The Kenya ICT Board"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Kenya ICT Board was established by HE President Mwai Kibaki, as a state corporation under the State Corporations Act Cap. 446 on 19th February 2007.<\/p>\n<p>The Kenya ICT Board\u2019s mission is to champion and actively enable Kenya to adopt and exploit ICT, through promotion of partnerships, investments and infrastructure growth for socio economic enrichment.<\/p>\n<p>Its vision is that Kenya becomes a top ten global ICT hub by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>The Kenya ICT Board mandate is to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Market<\/strong>: Positioning and promoting Kenya as an ICT destination (locally and internationally), especially promoting Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Offshoring.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advise<\/strong>: Advise the government on all relevant matters pertaining to the development and promotion of ICT industries in the country<\/li>\n<li><strong>Build Capacity<\/strong>: Providing government and other stakeholders with skills, capacity and funding for anchor implementation of ICT projects for development.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Manage Projects<\/strong>: Coordinating, directing and implementing anchor ICT projects within Government.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kenya ICT Board was established by HE President Mwai Kibaki, as a state corporation under the State Corporations Act Cap. 446 on 19th February 2007.
