Andrew Mahiga serves as the Managing Director of Maanisha! – a youth-related media organization based out of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania which aims at educating and empowering young Tanzanians for business success through ‘edutainment’ programs (www.maanisha.co.tz). Boniface Mwangi

Brian Wangila is a technology enthusiast, a computer science student and all-round fun-loving geek. He has 5 years experience in web development having worked with The Kenya Embassy in Ethiopia, Oxfam among other clients.

He is currently the Lead Developer at Skyline Design. WordPress is his CMS of choice when it comes to developing dynamic websites.

Daniel Bachhuber

Daniel Bachhuber wrangles code for Automattic’s WordPress.com VIP from the beautiful city of Portlandia. He spends his weekdays helping Code Poets push their code towards perfection and his weekends climbing mountains, training for the Portland Marathon, and inching closer and closer to his pilot’s license.

Daudi Were

Daudi Khamadi Were is a Kenyan technology strategist, human rights defender and social activist based in Nairobi. He works as the Director of Programmes at Ushahidi; a technology company born in Kenya that specializes in developing free and open source software for information collection, visualization and interactive mapping. Daudi spends most of his time working on innovative ways technology can be used to bring about positive change in communities across the world. Daudi also provides technology and digital media strategy support to several high impact grassroots civil society organisations and NGOs across Africa. Daudi is recognised as thought leader online, blogs at www.mentalacrobatics.com, is a TED Africa fellow and the founder of the Kenyan Blogs Webring.

David Mugo

David Mugo is a WordPress enthusiast, blogger and a digital media professional. He is currently the C.E.O. and board chairman of Wikimedia Kenya. David has been in the Kenyan online space since early days when there was only a very small presence of Kenyans online. He will also be the DJ for the Saturday Word Party at WordCamp Kenya 2012.

Gloria S. Mangi

Gloria comes from a media professional background having worked in numerous platforms both behind and in the front lines. She has successfully hosted and produced a national TV show in Tanzania, produced and presented numerous other programs, hosted and produced the 2010 national election commentary in Tanzania for the English side, part of numerous networks, a MILEAD fellow, and currently work as the Media and communication director for Maanisha!

Isaac Keyet

As a team lead and designer for the Mobile Team at Automattic, Isaac helps plan and design the official open source WordPress apps. Each month, over half a million posts are published from these apps on WordPress.com alone. Co-founded IntenseDebate back in the day and is a TechStars ’07 alumni. Swedish. Likes coffee, road trips, and temperatures above freezing.

My name is Kelvin Jayanoris. I’m 25 and an accountant by training. I stumbled upon WordPress when I quit Deloitte to start my own company. While working with WordPress we hit a point in time when we needed to create lots of online shops. We wanted to use WordPress but got really bad experiences with the available ecommece plugins so we wrote DukaPress. We open sourced it because we felt that others could benefit. However, the response was so much that we decided to launch dukapress.org, dukapress.com and madoido.com to try and make a business of it.

Kimanzi Constable is Kenyan in the US, an author who has self-published two eBooks and sold over 50,000 copies. His first published book will be out this February (Sound Wisdom Books).  His mission is to help people live the full and abundant life they deserve.

Njeri is a multi talented Kenyan poet and performer, IT specialist and arts blogger whose collection of poetry was recently published under the title ‘Mines & Mind Fields; My Spoken Words’. She has now among some of the most talented Kenyan poets. Njeri has come to be known as the voice of reason and change in the Kenyan poetry circles due to the content and theme of her poems.

I’m ICT Officer and Head of Social Media at Kenya Red Cross. Social Media for me was pastime but when i joined Kenya Red Cross it became a calling, when  through social media we saved lives. I launched #iVolunteer  a vitual volunteer it has become a success as now every Kenyan on social media, blogger, techies etc can volunteer to report emergency via social media or donate their time and skill virtually.
