Daudi Khamadi Were is a Kenyan technology strategist, human rights defender and social activist based in Nairobi. He works as the Director of Programmes at Ushahidi; a technology company born in Kenya that specializes in developing free and open source software for information collection, visualization and interactive mapping. Daudi spends most of his time working on innovative ways technology can be used to bring about positive change in communities across the world. Daudi also provides technology and digital media strategy support to several high impact grassroots civil society organisations and NGOs across Africa. Daudi is recognised as thought leader online, blogs at www.mentalacrobatics.com, is a TED Africa fellow and the founder of the Kenyan Blogs Webring.
