Q:Tell us more about how you became interested in WordPress, what about it drives your continued interest?
I became interested in WordPress when I wanted to start a blog. So I researched on the different  platforms and though locally wordpress was not a popular platform to use in relation to blogging, it seemed that it ranked high internationally. Once I started using it, I haven’t looked back since. One of the things I really enjoy about wordpress is being able to use different templates and backgrounds and customizing it to what best represents me or what I am trying to portray.

Q:Why did you decide to speak at WordCamp Kenya?
Aside from the fact of being a wordpress user and hearing about WordCamp Kenya for a little while now, I think what set apart this one for me was the fact that it is happening before the national elections take place and the theme is centers around that. I feel it is my responsibility as both a blogger and a journalist to be a part of this in whatever capacity that plays out.

Q:What is your talk going to be about?

I want to talk about the rise of Pan Africanism through the eyes of a blogger.

Q:What is the one thing you want people to walk away with from your talk?
I want people to capture what the true essence of pan africanism is and the ideologies behind it.

Q:What is your favourite WordPress theme and/or plugin, and why?
My favorite wordpress theme is Modularity Lite because I like how I can have a slideshow of selected pictures and the way I can customize the header on top with any image I want.

Q:Can you share one WP tip with us?
For any blog post that you do, make sure you put tags relevant to whatever you posted about to make it easier to find when someone searches for those terms in a search engine.

Q: What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Kenya 2012?

I think I am looking forward to the networking as well as the other talks and learning from other wordpress users

Q:Is WordPress an effective platform for getting your message across?
I believe it is.
