Whive is a Social Media Platform for Africa. Whive mobile provides single, group and
\nbulk short message services to East Africans using colloquial applications through
\nFreemium and Paid business models hence solving the problem of lack of access to
\nlocalized (either by language or features) social media\/communication applications
\nthat can be used within the African context.<\/p>\n
The application is already available in Swahili, French and English which covers
\nmuch of the African population. They have also included Sheng, Kikuyu and Dholuo
\nas pilot languages to ensure uptake of this mobile service within a more localized
\ncontext in Kenya.<\/p>\n
Whive aims to enhance access of information to Africans including millions of mobile
\nphone subscribers across Africa by using SMS technology available that allows
\nthem to view content in their local languages on their mobile phones. Our overall
\nweb subscriber base consists of 90,000+ individuals with a further reach of about
\n100,000+ mobile users in Kenya.<\/p>\n
Though we are still an early stage startup our rapidly growing platform already allows
\norganizations to reach the average African mobile user with a direct and personalized
\nmessages offering important information on health, education and other services.<\/p>\n
